There are just few things that Rob is not right on first is that if Meru shuts all AP but one down how can it scale easily to 10 - 20000 APs if that is true that would be the worst of all.The Meru controller (all APs are spectrum monitors as well) knows the adjacent APs an only they are affected. The normal Micro-cell deployment how ever in dense networks i.e. schools relies heavily on power limiting APs that makes the Signal/Noise ratio in the RF side go way down, that on the other hand sets the clients (that by standard choose the AP of their liking) to look for and negotiate to other APs that which takes lot of capacity out of the network since all other operation of 2 APs is halted during connection negotiation phase, as well as making the APs more vulnerable to interference since at reduced power the really do not stick that well...
